Through the merger integration process I was let go several weeks back along with 55 others from Nicor.

Long time no hear. It sounds like a lot of people from our "era" are being affected by downsizing...my husband was just given "early retirement" after 33 yrs. with Motorola, as his division was recently purchased by Google. Needless to say, they prefer a younger workforce.
Wasn't Nancy Beletti your big sis? She's fully retired now, touring the U.S. with her husband who works for an RV Company. Since it doesn't sound like you're ready to retire yet, I hope you're able to find a new position soon, if you haven't already in the several months that have passed since your posted.
